Negotiation Training

Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators offers expert-led crisis negotiation training that helps law enforcement, first responders, and hostage negotiators develop the skills needed to manage critical situations. Our training programs incorporate proven techniques to ensure you are well-prepared for real-world challenges.

Region 1

REGION 1 - ADVANCED NEGOTIATION COURSE -MESQUITE

This will be an intense 40 hour class that will include a 16 hour negotiation training day.

  • Dates: October 12-15, 2026
  • Time: 8:00 AM - 5:00PM

  • Refresher on Active Listening Skills
  • Negotiating with the Mentally Ill.
  • Case Law - Understanding your liability.
  • Using shields in face-to-face negotiations.
  • Rope work for high elevation negotiations.
  • Daily negotiation and classroom exercises.
  • 16 hour negotiation day.

This training is being provided to local, state and federal law enforcement personnel which includes law enforcement officers/agents, peace officers, detention/corrections officers or communications officer who have a demonstrated profession interest in hostage/crisis negotiations.  Identification will be required showing your affiliation  with a federal, state or local law enforcement agency at the beginning of the training.

This  2-day course is to provide Texas Police Telecommunications Officers with vital information in dealing with critical incidents.  Provide telecommunications officers with information about how all levels of critical incidents are managed during the course of a situation.

Region 5 - Advanced Crisis Negotiation Class for Team Leaders - Odessa

 

This 2 day advanced crisis negotiation class is specifically designed for both new and veteran team leaders.  It will equip participants with critical skills for effective crisis team management.

 A full week of training to include a Negotiation Challenge for negotiation teams, case studies on negotiated incidents and more.
